Are you tired of system apps that are installed on your device and you can't remove them? Then check out this app!
DISABLE APPS YOU DON'T NEED
You are using an alternative browser app? So just put the default browser into quarantine, you will no longer see it in your app launcher. You wonder why the Paypal app is always running in the background after startup and you don't even use it? Throw it into quarantine and you're sure no unwanted background service is running because the app is completely disabled.
Want to remove an app from quarantine? You can safely restore your apps anytime.
Enable or disable apps directly from your homescreen.
On Android 3.0 devices with extra large screens you will also see an improved user interface in APP QUARANTINE to show more information about particular apps.
DOES NOT BLOCK OTA UPDATES
When using other tools to remove system apps then you possibly can't update your ROM updates any longer. This is no issue with APP QUARANTINE. The system partition is never changed, there's no permanent change to the system.
If one of your quarantined apps got updated then the new version is usually no longer locked. APP QUARANTINE however detects updates and re-quarantines your unwanted apps again. This can either be done in an interactive or automatic mode.
DO YOU OFTEN FLASH CUSTOM ROMs...
...and you are you sick of the same old unwanted apps over and over again? APP QUARANTINE stores all settings on your SD card. The first time you run the app after a factory reset (or flashing a custom ROM) you can quickly re-quarantine all selected apps with one click.
ALSO WORKS WITH SOFT ROOT
You don't want to permantely root your phone and void your warranty? Then use some of these 1-click SOFT ROOT tools for your device. A soft root is lost after rebooting your device. APP QUARANTINE also works with a soft root. And even after a reboot your apps are still in quarantine.
Two permissions are currently needed:
- write SD card is needed to save settings
- kill background processes is needed to restart the Android launcher after locking/unlocking apps
In order to use APP QUARANTINE you need to have:
1. Applied a SOFT ROOT or PERMANENT ROOT
2. USB Debugging is turned ON
Here you can find the setting for USB Debugging:
[Menu] --> [Settings] --> [Applications] --> [Development]
